Compounded semaglutide doses: how the ladder climbs
Semaglutide is started low and raised in steps. The approved Wegovy label sets 5 doses, 0.25 mg to 2.4 mg, with at least 4 weeks on each before the next. Below is what each rung is, when the label lets you reach it, and which ones it names as doses to stay on. A compounded vial has no label of its own, so this is the approved product’s schedule, the one every dose page here refers to.

The ladder, rung by rung
- 0.25 mg · 0.25 mg is the first rung of the Wegovy label's schedule, the dose every patient starts on, taken once weekly for weeks 1 to 4. The label treats it as a dose for getting started, not one to stay on, so a seller whose price climbs with the dose charges its lowest figure here, and the month that matters is the one at the dose you settle on.
- 0.5 mg · 0.5 mg is the second of 5 rungs of the Wegovy label's schedule, a step on the way up from 0.25 mg to 1 mg, taken for weeks 5 to 8. The label does not name it as a dose to stay on; its maintenance doses are 1.7 or 2.4 mg.
- 1 mg · 1 mg is the third of 5 rungs of the Wegovy label's schedule, a step on the way up from 0.5 mg to 1.7 mg, taken for weeks 9 to 12. The label does not name it as a dose to stay on; its maintenance doses are 1.7 or 2.4 mg.
- 1.7 mg · 1.7 mg is the fourth of 5 rungs of the Wegovy label's schedule. On the way up it is scheduled for weeks 13 to 16, and the label also names it as a dose to stay on.
- 2.4 mg · 2.4 mg is the top rung of the Wegovy label's schedule. It is the maintenance dose the label recommends, taken from week 17 onward. The label also allows 7.2 mg once weekly, but only for adults using it for weight reduction who have tolerated 2.4 mg for at least four weeks; for its other uses the ceiling is 2.4 mg.
