The warning that was removed1
The label’s own change log records it in one line: Suicidal Behavior and Ideation, section 5.10, (Removed) 01/2026. A removal is a positive act by the regulator, not an oversight — the warning had been added when the question was open, and was taken out when the accumulated evidence did not support keeping it.
That history is why searching this question returns contradictory pages: many of them are accurate about a label that no longer reads that way. The date is the thing to check.
What is in the tables2
Anxiety does not appear in the adult weight-reduction table at all. It appears in the pediatric table, reported by 4% of treated participants against 2% on placebo — a real difference in a different population, and not transferable to adults.
Depression does not appear in either. “Depress” occurs zero times in the full label.
The other place mood appears2
In the list of low-blood-sugar symptoms. The label names anxiety and “irritability or mood changes” among the signs of hypoglycemia, alongside sweating, shakiness and confusion. That matters most for anyone also taking insulin or a sulfonylurea — see interactions — because there the cause may be the blood sugar rather than the mood.
